Whole apples can be fed into the patented centralized 75mm Stainless Steel feedtube, which delivers fruit direct to the centre of the grating disc, enabling the unit to achieve a balanced high speed of 13,000RPM. This results in complete pulp ejection and up to 30% greater juice yield. A low speed of 6,000 rpm is used for soft fruits such as watermelon, or for noise sensitive environments.

The unique lid moulding is designed for optimum flow of pulp. Patents are pending on zones that reduce air velocity to ensure there is no leakage around the periphery of the lid.

The 3.5 litre Pulp Container has an integrated handle and easily assembles to the unit with just two fingers.

The Breville Filter Basket is dishwasher safe, made from a precision European Stainless mesh welded to a Stainless Steel Chassis with a GF Noryl coupling. The Filter Basket in traditional commercial juicers is diecast alloy, which cannot be placed in a dishwasher. The finished basket assembly is computer balanced to ensure smooth operation.

The elegant 1 litre Juice Jug has a lid with a built in Froth Separator and pours beautifully.

A key to the performance of this product is the centralized 75mm feedtube which delivers whole fruits direct to the centre of the grating disc, enabling the unit to achieve a balanced high speed of 13,000RPM. The result is unsurpassed juice extraction and very dry pulp. Our strong patents force our competitors around the world to offset the feedtube from the centre of the cutting disc, resulting in an unbalanced system. To avoid vibration problems the competitor units are generally run at 4-6000rpm, half the speed of the Breville unit and equal to our slow speed. At these speeds, sticky fruits such as apples cannot be completely ejected from the filter mesh face, blocking the mesh and lowering the yield.

3-D CAD and rapid prototyping was used to optimise the lid design for pulp flow. The differing functional requirements of the inside and outside forms of the lid represented a significant design challenge, with the final part having carefully controlled wall sections of up to 10mm. Patents are pending on zones that reduce air velocity to ensure there is no leakage from around the periphery of the lid. The lid integrates a Stainless Steel Feedtube (patent pending) with patents granted for the integrated knife to prevent rotation of fruit.

With an elegant integration of forms at the junction of the pulp container, stainless steel juice collector and the lid, the component design takes into account the variations in part geometry during the manufacturing process. The result is a visually integrated and functionally excellent assembly with excellent ergonomics.

The Plastic, Die-cast and Stainless Steel parts were developed in close conjunction with the manufacturer and toolmakers to ensure consistency and manufacturability.

Serviceability: All internal components such as PCB, Motor brushes etc, are serviceable.

Ergonomics: The intuitive nature of the design results in a product that is very easy to use, proof of which is that someone can use the unit with little or no instruction. Most of the parts simply drop into position. Visual cues are used for alignment of the filter basket to the drive coupling and orientation of the feedtube pusher. The lock-bar is positioned with one hand and exudes a sense of security. The pulp container can be pivoted into place with just two fingers (patents pending).

Safety: The locking bar progressively activates micro-switches that ensure the unit cannot be operated unless in a safe mode. If the lock bar is removed before the rotation has stopped, the unit dynamically brakes the basket within 4 seconds.

Two settings adjust the speed for juicing everything from crunchy carrots to delicate berries and melons. The pulp container and juice pitcher are dishwasher safe.
